Where is Proud Cabaret Brighton?

A short walk from the City Centre / Train Station or jump in a cab – we’re in the heart of Kemptown, near to the Royal Sussex County Hospital

Residents

We are located in a residential area and we ask that you respect our neighbours when arriving and leaving the venue as loud noise is very disruptive. Our staff will let you know (nicely) if you’re being a bit too loud. We also request that smokers keep noise to a minimum when using our smoking area.

Disabled access

We are a Grade II listed building so our accessibility is not perfect but we have a ground floor (step free) toilet – if you have restricted mobility perhaps call us before your visit so we can advise you on the venue facilities.

When does it open?

Evening shows, doors at 6.30pm, try to arrive no later than 7.30pm

For Brunch, please arrive promptly for a 12noon start – the bottomless cocktail hour starts at 12!

Service Charges

Just a little reminder on the mandatory 12.5% service charge for groups of 6 and over and the cancellation policy: the credit card we take at the time of booking will be charged automatically for no-shows (£25pp for discounted ticket holders and the full package charge for those on full price packages), cancellations (with less than 72hrs notice) and any other amount due and not paid on the day, including mandatory group surcharges unless specifically agreed with the Manager at the time.

We hope you won’t have to, but if you do need to cancel then please let us know at least a week before your booking date to avoid being charged full price for your ticket. In the unfortunate case of a full party cancellation then the deposit is non-refundable.

Pre-Orders and Dietary Requirements and allergies/intolerances

If you choose our dining option then please don’t forget to make your pre-order at least 3 days before your booking date, using the pre-order link sent out to your email.

Can we all be seated together?

Please note, due to the layout of the restaurant we cannot guarantee exact seating plans, as our table plans are subject to change in order to accommodate the different party sizes on the night. If you are a party of 6 or over you may be split across separate booths – but always next to one another!

All guests are advised that a maximum of 3 different cards per table will be accepted on paying the final bill at the end of the evening.

Do I get a seat if I have a show only ticket?

Probably not, you will be stood or seated at the bar

Dress Code

Proud has a strict dress code and rights of admission are at the absolute discretion of the staff. Proud insists that our performers, staff and venue are nothing short of stunning and we ask that you join in the fun and dress to impress! Full burlesque or period outfits or black tie/smart suits will always be welcome and you will feel right at home! Gorgeousness is always rewarded. No jeans, trainers or suchlike clothing will be permitted to enter.

Also please note that any party accessories or decorations are not in keeping with the glamorous, 1920’s vintage theme of our venues and will not be allowed for the durations of the show.

Due to the venue layout and the low-light atmosphere which is consistent with the general use of the venue, we cannot accept liability for any accidents which occur from the wearing of high heels or other types of raised soles other than those worn for podiatric reasons.

Management reserves the right to remove any guest from the venue for any reason. Rowdy and unruly behaviour will not be tolerated. All attendees to any event held on the premises must be aged 18 or over. You are ultimately responsible for all of the guests in your party.

Hen & Stag Parties

So you are celebrating your last night of freedom, and we are glad you chose to celebrate it with us! We do have a few guidelines when it comes to Hen & Stag Parties, so please read the below carefully.

Hens:

Proud Cabaret has a strict dress to impress policy and so although we are happy for hen parties to dress in fancy dress appropriate to the venue (eg. burlesque), we will not accept ‘L’ plates, party hats etc. These can be removed and left with the hostess or receptionist.

Please remember we are a restaurant and so will not allow any “phallic” items such as straws or headpieces, if shown, they will be asked to be removed.

Stags:

The best policy is to enjoy your arrangements without causing distress, annoyance or damage to the venue, our staff, or any other customer within the venue. Guests must not, under any circumstance, touch or talk to any of the staff or acts in an inappropriate manner. Management retains absolute discretion to decide what is ‘inappropriate’. By booking with Proud Cabaret, the booker agrees to accept responsibility for each of your group members and the group undertakes to conduct itself in a proper manner. If you or a group member acts in a manner that threatens or disrupts the safety or enjoyment of others, or acts inappropriately we may remove you from the premises without notice. No refunds will be given.

Dress rules apply as per the admission rules above.

Cancellation Policy

If you cancel at any time before 1 week prior to your booking date we will deduct only the deposits. If you cancel within one week the full price ticket per person will be automatically deducted from your credit or debit card provided at the time of booking.

For all bookings: you hereby agree that the full ticket price per person for any guest who does not attend on the night may be debited in the credit card used at booking to be debited automatically.

In exceptional circumstances Proud Cabaret reserves the right to cancel bookings with immediate notice and will be under no liability to the client for any loss which the client may sustain as a result of cancellation or suspension. This does not affect your statutory rights.

Reschedules

All parties who wish to reschedule can do so in writing to Brightonreservations@proud.co.uk at least 1 week before the original booking date to do so. The pre-paid deposit will be transferred over to the new date and no further action is required.

If rescheduling is after 1 week before the booking, all guests’ deposits will be lost and guests will have to pay the full amount of their bill on the night without any deduction for the deposit.

Complaints

If you have a complaint, please raise it with a member of staff on the night so we can do our best to rectify things. If you wish to make a complaint after your evening with us, please email brightonreservations@proud.co.uk and we will investigate fully; please note that we do not engage with our customers on Social Media for such matters.

Supplements

We charge a £10 per person supplement if you’d like to use a Groupon or other such discount voucher for our Saturday performances, due to high demand during peak season. You are welcome to use your voucher on a Friday evening without this supplement.
